New life and an expanded treatment for the epic Free Disco - You Are My Sculpture with the Original 2010 Heterosexual Mix + the Zion Heat Version (an obscure raw unreleased demo from that period) + 2 special Balearic Remixes by label boss Manu Archeo.

Calling all space cadets, backwards dancers and frog lickers, your Florentine favourite has done it again. Expanding his remit into the lost sounds of the new millennium, Archeo aim the DeLorean at 2010 to deliver an expanded reissue of Free Disco’s slow, low and sleazy cosmic dancer "You Are My Sculpture", featuring an unreleased demo mix and two new versions from Manu Archeo, all mastered by the mighty Marcoradi.

In a four-year burst of unbridled invention from 2008 to 2012, Japanese musician Free Disco delivered a slew of unique productions on labels like Electric Minds, Bearfunk and Rong Music. Blending lithe disco, minimal funk and Balearic influences, these records found their way into the bags of a whole generation of underground DJs, including Archeo boss Manu.

Originally tucked away as the B-side of the first release on Makoto’s own Strange Desire imprint, this loose, lysergic cut pairs a wriggling bassline with warped synth tones and a strung-out vocal. Palm-muted guitar, subdued sax and chirruping clavinet ensure it gradually swells into a space-funk singularity that pulls dancers into its gravitational field. Timeless to the core, "You Are My Sculpture" could have emerged from Berlin, Tokyo, NYC or Lake Garda at any point from 1978 to now. A true cult classic.

For this highly limited 2026 edition, the original is joined by the Zion Heat Version, an unreleased demo mix from back in the day. Stripped back and dub-wise, it dials up the space and stretches the groove into an outsider dance jam, a little like a lost Peaking Lights dub of an Indoor Life no-wave experiment.

Flip the disc and you’ll find a pair of brand-new Balearic interpretations from label boss Manu Archeo, whose long-standing obsession with the track sparked this reissue. His main mix layers in smooth pads, medicated breaks and churning prog sequences, reworking the original into something weightless and transportive. Sitting somewhere between the mellow glow of Southern Freeze and the slow Goa lean of Transglobal Underground, this is a perfect warm-up cut, day party tripper or sunset serenade. The Bonus Beat version pushes the rhythm section to the front, dubbing out the rest for a stripped, DJ-friendly tool built for the heads who love to mix.
